Spring forward, spring into FITNESS!

I know it’s difficult to get the little ones into the rhythm after turning the clocks forward, but how amazing is that extra hour of daylight at the end of the day? I’m so happy the days of dark at 4:30pm are behind us! Between that and the cold, the winter can take a toll on even the most fit-conscious of people!

Research shows that given an extra hour of evening daylight, many people use the time to go out and do things rather than watch the television shows they’d normally view at that time. Yay! More time to get outdoors and more time for fitness! Spring reminds us that summer is coming.  Yes, it’s just 12 weeks away. Before you know it, it will be time for swim suits and summer vacations and shorts and tank tops, oh my! If the thought has you uncomfortable already, now is the time to prepare!

It’s not too early, in fact now is the perfect time. Every time you question whether or not you should make healthier choices, just remember 12 weeks is really not that far away. It takes 21 days to create a new habit, 8 weeks for you to really see the changes and 12 weeks for others to notice. So by making the commitment to start now you will make noticeable progress by the time summer is here.

Our March Madness Fitness Support and Accountability Group started today and we’ll have another group starting again April 6th. My goal is to help you get ready for summer without stressing out, and without feeling restricted. I want to show you how you can make more of a lifestyle change rather than feel like you are going on a diet.  I want to show you how to fit in exercise with your already overflowing to do list and how to make the meal planning and the food preparation as painless as possible.  As a busy mom of 2 young kids, I totally know how crazy life is!

So its time to package fitness neatly into a little ball of attainability!  Lets just start with 21 days. Can you commit to 21 days?  30 minute workouts, a meal plan, and a daily accountability check in?

Let’s do it! Spring into Fitness with me! Contact me if you would like more info and let’s get ready for a stress-free summer!

Have a great week,
Meryl

Almond Joy Chocolate Bark

I have a confession. I have a huge sweet tooth. I try not to have chocolate or cookies in the house because if I do, it won’t last long. Eating sugar leads to wanting to eat more sugar. It’s a known fact. So I’m always looking for ways to curb my 3pm sweet tooth and this one just might be my new addiction!

Ingredients:
1 scoop Chocolate protein powder (I use vegan chocolate Shakeology)
1 Tbsp. coconut oil, melted
1 tsp. unsweetened shredded coconut
6 almonds

Directions:
Heat coconut oil in the microwave until it melts, about 30 seconds. While still very hot, add one scoop of chocolate protein powder and stir quickly. Keep stirring until all is combined into a thick chocolate paste. Spread onto waxed paper. Top with the shredded coconut and almonds. Freeze for 10-15 minutes. Enjoy! Without any guilt!

(Warning, these are very dense! You will need to eat with a large glass of water.)
